திரைப்படத்துறையினர் மத்தியில் ஒரு நட்பு வட்டத்தை வளர்க்க வேண்டும்> அத்துடன் திரைப்படத் துறையையும் இலக்கியத்துறையையும் ஒரு குடையின் கீழ் கொண்டுவரவேண்டும் என்ற லட்சியத்துடன் திரைப்பட இலக்கியச் சங்கமம் என்ற இந்த நிகழ்;வை நான் கடந்த மூன்று வருடங்கள் தொடர்ந்து வெற்றிகரமாக நடத்தி வருகின்றேன்.

இந்த சங்கமத்தில் சிறந்த> புகழ்பெற்ற> விருதுபெற்ற படங்களைப்பற்றியும் இலக்கியங்களைப்பற்றியும் மட்டுமல்லாமல் வியாபார ரீதியாக வெற்றிபெற்ற நல்ல படங்களைப்பற்றியும் இலக்;கியங்களைப்பற்றியும் விவாதிக்;கப்படுகின்றது. திரைப்படங்களின் தரம்> இலக்கியம் போன்றவை பற்றி மட்டுமல்லாமல் தொழில்நுட்பம்> வியாபாரம்> விளம்பரம் போன்றவை பற்றியும் விவாதிக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றது.

தற்பொழுது இம்முயற்சியை மேலும் பயனுள்ளதாக்கிட> மொழி எல்லைகளைத் தாண்டி நம் நாடு முழுவதும் உள்ள திரைப்படத்துறையைச் சார்ந்த தயாரிப்பாளர்கள்> படைப்பாளிகள்> கலைஞர்கள்> தொழில்நுட்ப வல்லுநர்கள்> மாணவர்கள் மற்றும் இலக்கியத்துறையைச் சார்ந்த எழுத்தாளர்கள் அனைவருடைய பெயர்கள் மற்றும் தொடர்பு எண்களை ஒன்றிணைத்து ஒரு சிறப்பு திரைப்பட இலக்கியக் பெயர்காட்டி (Film Literature Directory) உருவாக்கும் பணி நடைபெற்று வருகின்றது.

இதற்காக www.filmfriendship.com என்ற இணையதளத்தை ஆரம்பித்து, இதில் திரைத்துறை மற்றும் இலக்கியத்துறையைச் சார்ந்த அனைவருடைய பெயர்களையும், தொலைபேசி எண்களையும் இணைத்து வருகின்றேன். மேலும் இதை ஒரு புத்தகமாக வெளியிடவும் திட்டமிட்டு வருகின்றேன். திரைத்துறையைச்சார்ந்த அனைவரும் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் அறிந்து கொள்ளவும், அனைவாpடமும் சென்று சேரவும் இந்த பெயர்காட்டி (வலைதளமும் புத்தகமும்) மிகவும் பயனுள்ளதாக இருக்கும்.

இந்த சங்கமத்தின் மூன்றாம் ஆண்டுவிழா 2014 ஜூலை மாதம் நடைபெற உள்ளது. திரைப்படம் மற்றும் இலக்கியத் துறைகளைச் சார்ந்த அனைவரையும் ஒன்றிணைக்கும் ஒரு சிறப்பு மேடையாக இந்த ஆண்டுவிழாவை நடத்த விரும்புகிறேன்.

(இது ஒரு மாதிரி மட்டுமே. இந்த திட்டத்தை மேம்படுத்த உங்கள் அறிவுரைகள் வரவேற்கப்படுகின்றன.)

இப்படி ஒரு அழைப்பிதழை அச்சிட்டு இந்த விழாவை வெகு விமரிசையாக நடத்துவதற்கு ஆசைப்படுகிறேன். மேற்குறிப்பிட்டது போல் நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் பங்குபெறும் ஆளுமைகள் அனைவரையும் இவ்விழாவில் பங்குபெறவைக்க முடியும் என்ற நம்பிக்கையில் அதற்கான பணிகளை செய்துவருகிறேன்.

ஒருவேளை ஆளுமைகள் மாறலாம். விழா நடைபெறும் நாள், இடம் மாறலாம். ஆனால் கண்டிப்பாக நிகழ்ச்சிகளும்,திரை மற்றும் இலக்கிய உலக பிரமுகர்களை இணைக்கும் விதமும் மாறாது. திரைப்படம் மற்றும் இலக்கியத்துறைகளை இணைக்கும் முயற்சியில் இந்த விழா ஒரு மைல்கல்லாக அமையும் என்பதில் சந்தேகமில்லை.

இந்த நிகழ்வின் வெற்றி, ஒரே மேடையில் பிற மொழி எழுத்தாளர்களையும் கலைஞர்களையும் இணைத்து இனிவரும் சங்கமங்களை மேலும் வெற்றிபெறச் செய்ய வழி வகுக்கும். அதுவே இந்த சங்கமத்தின் உண்மையான லட்சியம்.
ஆகையினால், இந்த பெயர்காட்டியையும் ஆண்டுவிழாவையும் மென்மேலும் வெற்றிபெறச் செய்ய அன்பு நண்பர்களாகவும், புரவர்களாகவும், விளம்பரதாரர்களாகவும் உங்கள் உதவியையும் ஒத்துழைப்பையும் வேண்டிக்கொள்கிறேன்.

Dear friends,

I have been conducting this Film Literature Confluence successfully for the past three years continuously with the aim of making a friendship circle amongst the Film Fraternity and also uniting the Film and Literary fields together.

In the confluences, we have been discussing not only about the special, popular and award winning films, but also about good commercial hit films and literary works. We have been discussing not only about quality and literature, but also about the technology, marketing and advertising of the films.

Now, to make this attempt more useful, the process is going on to unite the names and contact numbers of all producers, creators, artistes, technicians and students from the film field and all writers from the literature field across the country, crossing the language barriers, in a special Film Literature Directory.

I have been launched a website ‘www.filmfriendship.com’ for that, and I have been adding the names and phone numbers of everyone in the film field and literary field in it. And I am planning to publish this as a book also. This Directory (website and book) will be very useful for everyone in the film field to know one another and to reach one and all.

The third anniversary of this confluence will be conducted on July 2014. I want to conduct the anniversary as a platform to unite everyone belongs to the fields of Film and Literature.

(This is a sample. Your suggestions are invited to improvise the plan)

I would like to print an invitation like this and conduct the function in a grand manner. I had been doing all works to make the personalities participate in the function as mentioned above.

Sometimes, the personalities may be changed. The date and venue of the function may be changed. But, the programmed fixture and the combination of personalities from film and literary world will not be changed. This meet will surely become a milestone in the attempts to unite the film and literary fields together.

The success of this event will make way for the success of the next confluences, by uniting the writers and creators of other languages also on a single stage. And that is the main aim of the confluence.
Hence your help and co-operation are hereby solicited as loving friends, patrons and sponsors to make the directory and the anniversary a great success.

தயாரிப்பாளரும் பைனான்சியரும்

ஆரம்பநாட்களில் திரைப்படம் தயாரித்தவர்கள் தான் அந்த படத்திற்கு எழுத்தாளராகவும் இயக்குநராகவும் பணியாற்றி வந்தனர். பிறகு இலக்கியத்தில் ஆர்வம் கொண்ட சில தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் புகழ்பெற்ற இலக்கியவாதிகளின் படைப்புகளை படமாக்க ஆசைப்பட்டனர். அந்த இலக்கிய எழுத்தாளர்களை திரைக்கதை அமைக்க அழைத்து வந்தனர். சில வேளைகளில் திரைக்கதை எழுதுவதற்காக வேறு சில எழுத்தாளர்களை அழைத்து வந்து இந்த இலக்கியங்களை திரைக்கதையாக மாற்றினார்கள். சிலர் இலக்கியத்திலும் திரைப்படத்திலும் எழுத்தாளராக புகழ் பெற ஆரம்பித்தனர்.

அதே போல திரைப்படங்களில் தங்களுடன் பணிபுரிந்து பயிற்சி பெற்ற உதவியாளர்களை தயாரிப்பாளர் புதிய இயக்குநர்களாக அறிமுகம் செய்தனர்.

தயாரிப்பு பணிகளை மட்டும் பார்த்துக்கொள்ளவே தயாரிப்பாளர்களுக்கு முழுநேரமும் தேவைப்பட்டது தான் இதற்கு காரணம். அதுவுமின்றி உண்மையிலேயே தங்களைவிட தங்கள் படத்திற்கு பொருத்தமான இயக்குநர் இன்னொருவர்தான் என்பதை அவர்கள் உணர்ந்ததும், அதை பகிரங்கமாக ஒப்புக்கொண்டதும் ஒரு காரணமாக இருந்தது.

இப்படி திரைத்துறை வளர்ந்து வர காலப்போக்கில் தயாரிப்பு செலவுகளும், கலைஞர்கள் மற்றும் நடிகர்களின் சம்பளமும் உயர உயர படத்தை தயாரிப்பதற்கான முதலீடு (பட்ஜெட்) பெரிதாக ஆரம்பித்தது.

ஒரு சில கதைகளை அதிக பொருட் செலவு செய்து படமாக்க வேண்டிய அவசியமும் இருந்தது. பெரிய படங்கள் எடுக்கும்போது தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் அதிகப்படியான முதலீடு செய்யவேண்டி இருந்தது.

திரைப்படம் என்பது முழுமையான வர்த்தக முதலீட்டாக மாறிவிட, எப்படியும் கடன் வாங்கியாவது நினைத்தபடி பெரிய பட்ஜெட்டிலேயே படம் எடுக்க தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் தயாரானார்கள்.

சில நேரங்களில் தங்கள் கைவசம் உள்ள பணத்தால் படத்தை முடிக்க முடியாமல் போக தங்கள் சுற்றத்தாரிடம் கடன் வாங்க துவங்கினர்.

எப்படியும் படம் வெற்றி பெற்று கடனை திருப்பித்தர முடியும் என்ற நம்பிக்கை இருந்ததால் தயக்கம் இல்லாமல் கடன் வாங்கினார்கள். படம் விற்பனையானதும் சொன்னபடி கடனை திருப்பி கொடுக்கவும் செய்து வந்தனர்.

படம் வெற்றி பெற்றால் பணம் திரும்ப கிடைக்கும் என்று பலர் கடன் கொடுக்கவும் முன்வந்தார்கள்.

திரைப்படங்களுக்கு நிதி உதவி செய்ய முன்வந்த அவர்கள் சினிமா பைனான்சியர்கள் என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டனர்.

சில தயாரிப்பாளர்களுக்கு வங்கிகள் கடன் உதவி செய்தாலும் படங்களின் வெற்றி தோல்வி என்பது நிரந்தரம் இல்லாததாலும், தோல்வியுற்ற தயாரிப்பாளர்களிடமிருந்து பணம் திரும்ப பெற வேறு வழி எதுவும் இல்லாததாலும் வங்கிகள் படத்தை மட்டுமே நம்பி கடன் தர மறுத்தன.

தொடர்ந்து பல தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் படம் எடுக்க வர அதில் பெருவாரியானோர் தனிநபர் பைனான்சியர்களையே நாடினார்கள். அவர்களை நம்பியே படத்தயாரிப்பு தொடர்ந்து வந்தது.

தயாரிப்பாளர்களுக்கு மட்டும் தான் படத்தின் லாபத்திலும் நஷ்டத்திலும் அனைத்து பொறுப்புகளும் என்றாகிவிட, மற்ற கலைஞர்களும் நடிகர்களும் தங்களுக்கு ஒப்பந்தம் செய்யப்பட்ட தொகையை படம் வெற்றிபெற்றாலும் தோல்வியுற்றாலும் வாங்கிக் கொண்டனர்.

படம் வெற்றி பெற்று லாபம் கிடைத்தால் தயாரிப் பாளர்களுக்கு சந்தோஷம். கடன் கொடுத்த பைனான்சியர் களுக்கும் சந்தோஷம்.

அதுவே படம் தோல்வியுற்று, நஷ்டமானால் தயாரிப்பாளர்களுக்கு மட்டும்தான் நஷ்டம். எல்லா பாதிப்புகளும் அவர்களுக்கு தான்.

பைனான்சியருக்கு அப்படி ஒரு பிரச்சினை இல்லை. படம் தோல்வி அடைந்தாலும் சில வேளைகளில் கொடுத்த பணமும் வட்டியும் திரும்ப கிடைக்கும். அதற்கு காரணம் தயாரிப் பாளர்களின் மானமும் மரியாதையும் தான். ஆனால் சில தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் படம் தோல்வியுற்று கடனை திருப்பித்தர வேறுவழியின்றி தவித்தார்கள். அப்போது பைனான்சியருக்கும் நஷ்டம் ஏற்படுவது வழக்கமாகி விட்;டது.

மற்ற தொழில்கள் போல திரைப்படத் தயாரிப்பு என்பது நிரந்தரத் தொழில் அல்ல. ஒரு படம் நஷ்டமானால் போட்ட முதலுக்கு ஈடாக ‘பிலிம்’ மட்டுமே பொருளாக மிச்சமாக இருக்கும். அன்று பிலிமை விற்றால் சிறு தொகையாவது கிடைக்கும். இன்று அனைத்தும் ‘டிஜிட்டல்’ ஆகி விட்டதால் எதுவும் மிஞ்சாது.

ஆகையினால் பைனான்சியர்கள் கடன் கொடுப்பதற்கு அதிக அளவில் வட்டி வாங்க ஆரம்பித்தனர்.

சிலநேரங்களில் தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் வட்டிக்கு பணம் வாங்கி படம் எடுத்து, கடைசியில் வட்டி கட்டுவதற்காக படத்தின் முழு உரிமையையும் பைனான்சியர்களுக்கே எழுதி கொடுத்த சரித்திரங்களும் சினிமாவில் ஏராளமாக உண்டு.

Producers and Financiers

In the beginning days, the producers themselves had worked as directors and writers in their films. Then a few producers, who are interested in literature, wished to make films based on many literary works of famous writers. And they brought those writers to write the screenplay for their films. Some of the producers brought a few other writers and covert the literary works to screenplays. Some of them start to become famous in both literature and cinema.

In the same manner, the producers started to introduce their assistants, who had worked with them, as new directors.

The producers follow this way, bacause they became busier throughout the days on the production work. Not only they understand the fact that other director is fit for the film but also they accept it in public.

When the cinema had been developed in this manner in a period of time, the investment (budget) of the film also increased proportionaly as the cost of production and the remuneration of creators and actors rised.

A few stories need more money to be made into films. So to make big films, producers have to invest more.

As the cinema itself became a business investment, the producers also started to make big budjet films even bought loan for that.

Sometimes they didn’t have money to finish the film, and so, they started to get loans from their dear and nears.

They borrowed maoney, because they believed that they can return the money when the film becomes a victory at any cost. And they used to repay the loans as said when the films got marketed.

So, many people came forward to lend money to the producers.

The people who came forward to give financial help to the producers were called as film financiers

Eventhough some banks lend money to a producers, many denied to lend money to the producers as the success and failure of films are not judgable and there is no other way to get back the loan amount from the lost producers.

As a lot of producers came forward to make films continuously, many of them depend on personal financiers itself. The film production continues only based on the financiers.

As the producers only became responsible on the profit and loss, other creators and artists got the money that fixed on agreement, even the film succeed or lost.

If film became success, the producers feel happy. And the financiers, who lend money also feel happy.

If film flopped and lost the investment, that loss affected only the producers. All the problems belong to the producers only.

Financiers doesn’t have a problem like that. They will get back the money lended and the interest, even the film flopped.Tthe self respect and dignity of producers is the only reason for it. But, some producers struggled to return the money when the film failed. At that time, financiers also used to lose their money.

Like any other business, film production is not a permanent business. If a film failed, only ‘film roll’ will be there as a balance, for the investment. A small amount will get by selling that film roll in those days. As everything became digital, nothing will be left today.

So the financiers started collect interest in higer rates for the money lended.

There are so many incidents in the film history that the producers borrowed money for interest, made film, and gave the whole right of the film to the financiers itself, as they couldn’t return the loans.
