மஞ்சுமெல் பாய்ஸ் – தழிழில் புதிய தாக்கம்

 

தமிழ் படங்கள் கேரளத்தில் வெற்றி பெறுவது புதியதல்ல அதிசயமும் அல்ல. அதேபோல மலையாள படங்கள் தமிழ்நாட்டில் வெற்றி பெறுவதும் புதியதல்ல அதிசயமும் அல்ல. குறிப்பாக தமிழ் படங்கள் கேரளத்திற்குள் பரவலாக வெற்றி பெறும். சில தமிழ் படங்கள் கேரளத்தில் மலையாள படங்களைவிட பெரு வெற்றி பெறும். மலையாள படங்கள் தமிழ்நாட்டில் நகரங்களிலும் பட்டணங்களிலும் வெற்றிபெறுவுதுண்டு.

எம்ஜிஆர் காலங்களில் இருந்தே இது நடைமுறையில் இருக்கிறது. முன்பு எம்ஜிஆர் படங்கள் அதற்கடுத்து கமலஹாசன் படங்கள் பிறகு விஜய்காந்த் படங்கள் என தொடர்ந்து தற்பொழுது விஜய் படங்கள் மாபெரும் வெற்றிபெற்று வருகின்றன. இவை எல்லாம் மலையாளத்தில் இருக்கும் மிகப்பெரிய நட்சத்திரங்களின் படங்களுக்கு நிகராக வெற்றி பெறுவது உண்டு என்று சொன்னால் அது மிகையாகாது. விஜய் படங்கள் வெளியிடும் பொழுது மம்முட்டி மோகன்லால் போன்றவர்களின் படங்கள் கூட வெளியிடுவதை தள்ளி வைப்பது உண்டு.

அதுபொல மலையாளத்தில் வந்த சிறந்த படங்கள் பல தமிழ்நாட்டில் வெற்றி பெற்று இருக்கின்றன. ஆனால் அவையெல்லாம் வழக்கமாக நகரங்களிலும் பட்டணங்களிலும் மட்டும்தான் நடைபெறும். மற்றபடி பல மலையாள படங்கள்  மொழிமாற்றம் செய்யப்பட்டு தான் தமிழ்நாட்டில் வெளியிடப்படும். வெற்றியும் வரும்.

இதற்கு மலையாளம் தமிழ் மொழிகளுக்கு மத்தியில் இருக்கும் தொடர்பும் கலாச்சார தொடர்பும் காரணமாக சொல்லலாம்.  

இன்று அதையும் தாண்டி ஒரு மலையாள படம் தமிழ் படங்களுக்கு நிகராக தமிழ்நாட்டில் நகரம் பட்டணம் கிராமம் என்ற வித்தியாசம் பாராமல் பரவலான வெற்றி பெற்றிருக்கிறது. தற்பொழுது அந்த மலையாள படம் நேரடியாகவே தமிழ்நாட்டிற்குள் ஊடுருவி கிராமங்களில் இருக்கும் சிறு சிறு தியெட்டர்களில் கூட வெற்றி பெற்றிருக்கிறது, அந்த சாதனையை நிகழ்த்தி இருப்பது ஒரு சிறிய படம். பெரிய நட்சத்திரங்கள் இல்லாத பிரபலமாகாத கலைஞர்களால் எடுக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு சிறிய படம். அதுதான் மஞ்சுமெல் பாய்ஸ்.

இந்தப் படம் பிரம்மாண்டமான படம் கிடையாது. ஓரிரு படங்களில் நடித்த இளம் நடிகர்கள் நடித்த ஒரு சிறிய படம். இதில் நடித்திருக்கிறவர்களை கேரளத்தில் இருப்பவர்கள் கூட அவ்வளவு பெரிய நட்சத்திரங்களாக மதித்திருக்க மாட்டார்கள். இந்த படத்தை எடுத்த கலைஞர்கள் ஒரு இரு படங்களில் வேலை செய்த அனுபவங்களில் மட்டுமே அனைவருக்கும் தெரிந்தவர்கள். சிறிய பட்ஜெட்டில் இந்த படத்தை எடுத்திருக்கிறார்கள்.

கதையும் மிகவும் எளிமையானது. பத்து பேர் கொண்ட இளைஞர்கள் ஒரு குழுவினராக கேரளத்திலிருந்து தமிழ்நாட்டிற்கு சற்றுலா பயணம் செய்கிறார்கள். கொச்சியில் இருக்கும் மஞ்சுமெல் என்ற சிறிய பகுதியில் இருக்கும் இளைஞர்கள் தங்கள் விடுமுறையை கழிக்க திட்டமிடகின்றனர், இவர்கள் எல்லொரும் கயிறு இழுக்கும் போட்டியில் மிகவும் துடிப்பாக கலந்து கொள்பவர்கள். மீன் பிடிக்கம் தொழில் செய்பவாகள். தங்களுக்கு கிடைத்த  வெக்கேஷனை கொண்டாடுவதற்காக எங்கு செல்லலாம் என்று இடம் தேடுகிறார்கள். கோவாவிற்கு செல்லவா அல்லது வேறு எங்கேயாவது செல்லவா என்று யோசிக்கும் பொழுது எங்கும் செல்ல வசதி வாய்ப்புகள் இல்லாததால் கடைசியாக கொடைக்கானலுக்கு செல்லலாம் என்று பயணத்தை ஆரம்பிக்கிறார்கள்.

பழனி வழியாக வருகிறார்கள். வரும்வழியில் நண்பர்கள் பயணத்தை கொண்டாடுகிறார்கள். விடுமுறையை மிக உற்சாகமாக கொண்டாடுகிறார்கள். வழியில் மது அருந்தியும் தங்களக்குள்ளெ ஒருவரை ஒருவர் கிண்டல் செய்தும் யாருக்கும் தொந்தரவு செய்யாமல் அவர்களுக்குள்ளேயே மிகவும் ரசித்து அந்த பயணத்தை கொண்டாடுகிறார்கள். பல இடங்களில் சென்று பார்க்கிறார்கள். பிறகு திரும்பிச் செல்ல முற்படும்பொழுது ‘குணா கேவ்’ என்ற இடத்தை பார்க்க வேண்டும் என்று ஒருவர் சொல்கிறார். அந்த இடத்தைப் பற்றி டிரைவராக வந்த நண்பன் விளக்குகிறான். குணா என்ற தமிழ் படத்தில் கமலஹாசன் ஒரு குகைக்குள் கதாநாயகியை கடத்திக் கொண்டு போய் வைத்து காட்சிகளை எடுத்திருப்பார்கள். “கண்மணி அன்போடு காதலன்“ என்ற பிரபலமான பாடலும் அங்கு தான் படமாக்கப்பட்டு இருக்கும். அந்த குகைக்கு செல்லலாம் என்று முடிவு செய்கிறார்கள்.

அங்கே சுற்றுலா செல்லும் அனைவரும் அந்த இடத்தை பார்த்து செல்வதுண்டு. அந்த குகை அரசாங்கத்தால் போலீசால் மூடி வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. சற்று தூரத்தில் இருந்து மட்டும் தான் அந்த பாதையை பார்க்க முடியும். இந்த நண்பர்களும் அங்கே சென்று பார்க்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் அந்த குகைக்குள்ளே தான் போய் பார்க்க வேண்டும் என்று நண்பாகளில் ஒரு சிலர் ஆசைப்படுகிறார்கள். வேறு சிலர் அது வேண்டாம் ஆபத்து என்று தடுக்கிறார்கள். இருந்தாலும் கேட்காத நண்பர்கள் அந்த இடத்தில் உள்ள தடுப்பு சுவரையும் தாண்டி உள்ளே செல்கிறார்கள். வேறு வழி இன்றி உடன் சென்ற மற்ற நண்பர்களும் உள்ளே செல்கிறார்கள்.

 அங்கு இதற்கு முன்பு சென்ற பல நண்பர்களும் தங்களுடைய பெயர்களை அங்கு இருக்கும் பாறைகளில் எழுதி வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். இந்த நண்பர்களும் தங்களுடைய பெயர்களை அதாவது மஞ்சுமெல் பாய்ஸ் என்ற பெயரை எழுதி வைக்க முற்படுகின்றனர். அந்த நேரத்தில் சுபாஷ் என்கிற நண்பன் நடந்து செல்லும் பொழுது ஒரு குழிக்குள் விழுந்து விடுகிறார். அது மிகவும் ஆபத்தான  குழி. அதன் ஆழம் என்னவென்று யாருக்கும் தெரியாது. மற்ற நண்பர்கள் பதறிப் போகிறார்கள். குழிக்குள் விழுந்த நண்பனை காப்பாற்ற முயற்சி செய்கிறார்கள். ஒரு சிறிய வட்டமே உள்ள குழி என்பதனால் மற்றவர்கள் உள்ளே செல்ல முடியாது. மேலிருந்து படி அழைத்துப் பார்க்கிறார்கள். உள்ளே விழுந்தவனின் குரல் தூரத்தில் எங்கேயோ கேட்கிறது.

என்ன செய்வது என்று தெரியாமல் இந்த நண்பர்கள் தடுமாறுகிறார்கள். குழம்புகிறார்கள், பதட்டப்படுகிறார்கள். ஒரு சிலர் ஓடி சென்று போலீசுக்கு விஷயத்தை சொல்கிறார்கள். போலீஸ்காரர்கள் சிலர் உதவுகிறார்கள். எஸ் ஐ போன்ற வேறு சிலர் இவர்களை அடித்து உதைக்கிறார்கள். இவர்கள் தான் ஏதோ தவறு செய்தது போல நினைத்து தாக்குகிறார்கள். இருந்தாலும் கடமைக்கு என்று வருகிறார். அந்த சுற்றுலா தளத்தில் கடைகளுக்கு பக்கத்தில் இருக்கும் ஒரு சில நண்பர்கள் இந்த நண்பர்களுக்கு உதவ முன்வருகிறார்கள். அவர்களும் குகைக்கு பக்கத்தில் வந்து நிற்கிறார்கள். அந்த நேரத்தில் மழை பெய்கிறது. மழை நீர் உள்ளே செல்லாமல் இருப்பதற்காக மற்ற நண்பர்கள் தங்கள் உடல்களை வைத்து தடுக்க முயற்சிக்கிறார்கள். முடியவில்லை.

அதற்குள் போலீசும் தீயணைப்பு படையும் வருகின்றன. யாரும் விழுந்துவிட்ட நண்பனை காப்பாற்ற முற்படுவதில்லை. காரணம் இதற்கு முன்பு 10 13 பேர்கள் இதுபோல இந்த குகைக்குள் விழுந்திருக்கிறார்கள். ஒருவர் கூட காப்பாற்றப்படவில்லை. ஒரு சிலருடைய உடல் மட்டும் தான் எடுத்துக் கொண்டு வரவே முடிந்திருக்கிறது. அதன் பிறகு தான் அரசாங்கம் அதை தடை செய்து விட்டிருக்கிறது. யாரும் அங்கே செல்லக்கூடாது என்று உத்தரவு பிறப்பித்திருக்கிறார்கள். மதில் சுவர்களும் கம்பி வேலியும் போட்டு இருந்தார்கள்.

தற்பொழுது அதையும் தாண்டி சென்றதனால் இந்த நண்பர்களை போலீசார் தண்டிக்கத்தான் முற்படுகிறார்கள். வெறுமனே மக்கள் பார்க்கிறார்களே என்பதற்காக குழியில் விழுந்தவனை காப்பாற்றுவது போல நடிக்க முற்படுகிறார்கள். ஆனால் இந்த மஞ்சுமெல் பாய்ஸ் நண்பர்கள் அதைக் கேள்வி கேட்கிறார்கள். கூட வந்த உள்ளுர் மக்களும் அவர்களுக்கு சாதகமாக குரல் கொடுக்கிறார்கள். வேறு வழி இன்றி போலீசும் தீயணைப்பு படையும் குழியில் விழுந்தவரை காப்பாற்ற முயற்சி செய்கிறார்கள்.

நீளமான கயிறு கொண்டு வரப்படுகிறது. கயிறை உள்ளே விட்டுப் பார்க்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் அதைப் பற்றிக் கொண்டு வெளியே வரும் நிலையில் சுபாஷ் இல்லை. அதனால் தீயணைப்பு பணியில் ஒரு வீரனை உள்ளே இறக்கி குழியில் மாட்டியவரை காப்பாற்ற முடிவு செய்கிறார்கள். அந்த வீரனின் உடலில் கயிறை கட்டி கீழே இறக்க முற்பட அந்த வீரன் பயப்படுகிறான். உயிருக்கு பயப்பட்டு குழிக்குள் இறங்குவதை தவிக்கிறான். மற்ற வீரர்களும் பயப்படுகிறார்கள்.

யாரும் உயிரைப் பணயம் வைத்து குழியில் இறங்க தயாராகவில்லை. அதுமட்டுமின்றி குழியில் விழுந்தவன் கண்டிப்பாக இறந்து போயிருப்பான் என்று நினைக்கிறார்கள். நண்பர்கள் கூவி கூவி அழைத்துப் பார்க்க, உள்ளே இருந்து சுபாஷின் குரல் கேட்கிறது. அதனால் கண்டிப்பாக அவனை காப்பாற்ற யாராவது இறங்க வேண்டிய சூழ்நிலை வருகிறது. அதே நேரம் வீரர்கள் யாரும் இறங்க முற்படாத காரணத்தினால் நண்பர்களில் ஒருவன், அந்தக் கூட்டத்திலேயே மிகவும் வயதானவன் ”நான் இறங்குகிறேன்“ என்று முன்னுக்கு வருகிறார்.

தீயணைப்பு துறை தலைவரே அவருக்கு எச்சரிக்கை செய்கிறார். இது மிகவும் ஆபத்தான விஷயம் என்று சொல்கிறார், “இருந்தாலும் பரவாயில்லை நான் இறங்குகிறேன்” என்று அவன் கூறுகிறான். “நீ இறங்கவில்லை என்றால் நான் இறங்குவேன்” என்று இன்னொரு நண்பன் கூறுகிறான். இப்படி நண்பர்கள் தயாராக குட்டன் என்றழைக்கப்படும் அந்த மூத்த நண்பன் கீழே இறங்க தயாராகிறார்.

தீயணைப்பு வீரர்கள் அவன் உடலில் கயிறைக் கட்டி மெதுவாக அந்த குழிக்குள் இறக்குகிறார். குழிக்குள் விழந்த நண்பனை மற்ற நண்பர்கள் எப்படி காப்பாற்றுகிறார்கள் என்பது தான் கதை. இந்த கதையின் பின்னணியில் குணாவின் பாடல் ஒலிக்கிறது.

சுபாஷ் காப்பாற்றப்பட்டடபின் நண்பாகள் ஊருக்கு திரும்பி செல்கிறார்கள். அங்கு செல்லும் போது சுபாஷின் அம்மா அவன் காயம் பட்டதை கண்டு உடலில் அடிபட்டதற்கு மற்ற நண்பர்களை திட்டுகிறார். ஆனால் ஒரு சில நாட்களுக்குப் பிறகு நடந்த விஷயங்கள் பத்திரிகையில் வர அதை பழனிக்கு வந்த சில நண்பர்கள் பார்க்க, அவர்கள் ஊரில் வந்து சொல்ல, அப்பொழுதுதான்  கொச்சியில் இருக்கும் மற்ற நண்பர்களுக்கும் நண்பர்களின் குடும்பத்தினருக்கும் இந்த விஷயம் எல்லாம் தெரிகிறது. சுபாஷின் தாய் அந்த மூத்த நண்பனை பற்றி கொண்டு நன்றி சொல்கிறார். இவ்வளவுதான் கதை.

 இந்த கதை மிகச் சாதாரணமாக எடுத்து ஒரு சிறிய வெற்றி படமாக மட்டுமே ஆகக் கூடிய கதைதான். ஆனால் எடுத்த விதமும், திரைக்கதை அமைப்பும்,  நடிகர்களின் தேர்வும், நடிப்பும் எல்லாம் ஒன்று சேர்ந்து இதை ஒரு மாபெரும் வெற்றி படமாக மாற்றிவிட்டது. அதற்கு மிக முக்கிய காரணம் அதை இயக்கிய, எழுதிய சிதம்பரம் எஸ் பொதுவாள் என்ற கலைஞன் தான். அவருக்கு உறுதுணையாக நடிகர்களும் தயாரிப்பாளரும் மற்ற நடிகர்களும் இருந்திருக்கிறார்கள். இந்த வெற்றி வழக்கமாக ஒரு நல்ல படத்திற்கான வெற்றி மட்டும்தான். மலையாள படங்கள் பரவலாக ஓடும் கேரளத்தில் மட்டுமே ஏற்படக்கூடிய பெரிய வெற்றி. அது மற்ற மாநகரங்களிலும் பட்டணங்களிலும் மற்ற மாநிலங்களிலும் வெற்றி பெறும் வாய்ப்புகள் சாதாரணமாகவே இருந்திருக்கின்றன.

ஆனால் தமிழகத்தில் இது ஒரு மாபெரும் வெற்றியாக, இன்னும் சொல்லப் போனால் தமிழில் உச்ச நட்சத்திரங்கள் நடித்த படங்களுக்கு இணையாக இந்த திரைப்படம் வெற்றி பெற்று இருக்கிறது. ஒருவிதத்தில் பார்த்தால் ரஜினிகாந்த் நடித்த லால் சலாம் படத்தின் வெற்றியை விட மிகப்பெரும் வெற்றியை இந்த படம் ஈட்டி இருக்கிறது. வசூலிலும் மற்ற தமிழ் படங்களை எல்லாம் பின்னுக்கு தள்ளி தமிழகம் முழுவதும் இது வெற்றி பெற்றிருக்கிறது.

இந்த வெற்றிக்கு காரணம் - மாபெரும் வெற்றிக்கு காரணம் - பிளாக்பஸ்டர் ஆக மாறியதற்கு காரணம் திரைப்படத்தின் கலைத்தன்மையும் எடுத்த விதமும் மட்டுமல்ல அதற்கு மேல் கிடைத்த விளம்பரமும் பாராட்டுக்களும் தான். முக்கியமாக குணா படத்தில் வந்த பாடலை இந்தப் படத்தில் பயன்படுத்தி இருக்கும் இடம், பயன்படுத்திய விதம், அது அனைத்து ரசிகர்களையும் உற்சாகமடைய வைத்துவிட்டது. எல்லோரும் அதை ஏற்றுக் கொண்டார்கள். அதைப்பற்றி பேசினார்கள். கமலஹாசன் அவர்களே இந்த படத்தை பார்த்து பாராட்டினார். நடிகனும் அரசியல்வாதியும் மந்திரியமான உதயநிதியும் இந்த படத்தின் கலைஞர்களை அழைத்து பாராட்டியிருக்கிறார்.

இந்த விஷயங்கள் சமூக வலைதளங்களிலும் மற்ற மீடியாக்களிலும் வெளியிட, அனைத்து மக்களும் இதைப் பற்றி பேச ஆரம்பித்தார்கள். முதலில் கொஞ்சம் பேர் படம் பார்க்க வந்தார்கள். படம் பிடித்துப் போக அவர்கள் மற்றவர்களிடம் சொல்ல, முக்கியமாக நண்பர்கள் நண்பர்களிடம் சொல்ல கல்லூரிகளில் நண்பர்கள் தங்களுடைய நண்பர்களை அழைத்துக் கொண்டு மீண்டும் மீண்டும் படம் பார்க்க வர, இது மாபெரும் வெற்றியை தந்திருக்கிறது. சோசியல் மீடியா அதாவது சமூக வலைதளங்களின் பலம் என்ன என்பது இந்தப் படம் எடுத்துக் காட்டி இருக்கிறது.

நல்ல ஒரு படம் நல்ல விதமாக எடுத்தால் மொழி முக்கியமல்ல, அது மக்களுக்கு புரிந்தால் எந்த இடத்திலும் வெற்றி பெறும் என்பதற்கு இந்த படம் ஒர எடுத்துக்காட்டு. நல்லபடத்தை விரும்பும் மக்கள் பொழதுபோக்கு படங்களை விரும்பும் மக்கள் மொழி எதுவாக இருந்தாலும், நன்றாக இருந்தால் ஏற்று கொள்கிறார்கள். கிளாஸ் மாஸ் என்று அவர்கள் பிரிப்பதில்லை. இது ஒரு கிளாஸ் ஆன படம். மாஸ் காட்சிகளும் இருக்கிறது. மாஸ் காட்சிகள் என்றால் உச்ச நட்சத்திரங்களின் ஆக்சன் மட்டுமே அல்ல, அடிதடி மட்டுமே அல்ல. கதைக்குள் ரசிகனை ஈர்த்து செல்ல வேண்டும். இழத்து செல்ல வேண்டும். அவர்களை ஒன்ற செய்ய வேண்டும். அந்த நண்பர் குழியில் விழுந்து அவனை காப்பாற்ற மற்ற நண்பர்கள் முயற்சி செய்யும்பொழுது அவனை காப்பாற்றியாக வேண்டும் என்று பார்க்கும் ஒவ்வொரு ரசிகனுக்கும் தோன்றியது. தொன்ற வைத்தார்கள்.! அதுதான் இந்த படைப்பின் வெற்றி.

அந்த படத்தில் ஒரு காட்சியாக ஒரு நண்பன் இன்னொரு நண்பனை காப்பாற்றும் பொழுது நாம் அவனைக் காப்பாற்றிய அளவுக்கு திருப்தி பார்க்கும் ஒவ்வொரு ரசிகர்களுக்கும் கிடைத்தது. அது கைதட்டல்களாக திரைப்படம் ஓடிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு தியெட்டரையும் அதிர வைத்தது.  இந்த படம்  முக்கியமாக தமிழகத்தில் மிகப்பெரும் வெற்றி பெற்றதற்கு காரணமாக இன்னொரு விஷயத்தையும்  கூட சொல்ல வேண்டும்.  இந்த படத்தில் வந்த கதாபாத்திரங்களும் கதைக்களமும் கதையம் தமிழ்நாட்டில் நடக்கிறது. பின்னணியில் தமிழ் பாடல்கள் ஒலிக்கின்றன. தமிழ்நாட்டில் உள்ள பல கதாபாத்திரங்களையும். நல்ல கதாபாத்திரங்களாகவும் கெட்ட கதாபாத்திரங்களாகவும் இரண்டையும் சரிசமமாகவம் எதார்த்தமாகவம் எடுத்துக் காட்டி இருக்கிறார்கள். வசனம் ஏறக்குறைய பாதிக்குமேல் தமிழிலேயே இருக்கிறது. மற்ற மலையாள வசனங்கள் கூட எளிமையான வசனங்கள் தான். அதுவும் தமிழில் அனைவருக்கும் புரியும் படியாக இருந்தது. அதனாலேயே மலையாளத்தை பற்றி தெரியாத தமிழ் மக்கள் கூட, கிராமங்களில் இருக்கும் தமிழ் மக்கள் கூட, இந்த படத்தை பார்த்து ரசிக்க ஆரம்பித்தார்கள்.

இதற்கு இணையாக விளம்பரங்களும் வாய்சொல் பரவலும் எல்லாம் சேர்ந்து தான் தமிழக முழுவதும் பரவலாக வெற்றி பெறச் செய்திருக்கிறது. இதனால் இது தமிழ் திரைப்பட வரலாற்றில் ஒரு மிகப்பெரும் சாதனையாக மாறி இருக்கிறது. இதை சொல்லும் பொழுது இன்னொரு விஷயத்தையும் சொல்ல வேண்டும். இந்த சமயத்தில் வந்த தமிழ் படங்கள் எதுவுமே இந்தப் படத்திற்கு இணையாக பேசக்கூடிய அளவிற்கு கூட வரவில்லை என்பது இன்னொரு வருத்தமான செய்தி. அதுவும் இந்த படத்தின் வெற்றிக்கு மிக முக்கிய காரணமாக அமைந்துவிட்டது.

இது தமிழ் திரைப்பட கலைஞர்களுக்கு திரைப்படம் எடுப்பவர்களுக்கும் தயாரிப்பாளர்களுக்கும் ஒரு எச்சரிக்கை மணியாகவே ஆகிவிட்டது. இனி எப்படி படம் எடுக்க வேண்டும், மக்களிடம் எப்படி கொண்டு செல்ல வேண்டும், என்பதற்கு இந்த படம் சில பாதைகளை வகுத்துக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறது. வெறுமனே படம் எடுத்து மக்களிடம் கொண்டு சென்றால் வெற்றி பெறாது என்றும் அதே நேரத்தில் நல்ல ஒரு படம் எடுத்து நல்ல முறையில் கொண்டு சென்றால் மொழியும் கடந்து மக்கள் ஆதரவு தருவார்கள் என்பதையும் இது எடுத்துக்காட்டுகிறது.

அதே நேரத்தில் ஒரு எச்சரிக்கையும் செய்ய வேண்டும். இப்படி ஒரு படம் வெற்றி பெற்றால் வழக்கமாக அதுவும் முக்கியமாக தமிழ் திரை உலகில் நடக்க இருப்பது ஒன்றுதான். ஒரே பாணியில் அதாவது வெற்றி பெற்ற பாணியிலேயே நிறைய படங்கள் தயாரிக்கப்படும். அதை பார்த்து பார்த்து மக்கள் புளித்து போய் வேண்டாம் என்று சொல்லும் அளவிற்கு எடுத்து விடுவார்கள். இங்கேயும் அப்படி நிறைய படங்கள் வருவதற்கான வாய்ப்புகள் இருக்கின்றன. சில மலையாள இயக்குனர்களை இதே போல தமிழுக்கு கொண்டு வந்து ‘இதே போல’ படங்களை எடுக்கச் சொல்லி அதையும் தோற்கடிப்பார்கள்.இதற்கு சமீபத்திய உதாரணம் திருஸ்யம் என்ற வெற்றிப்படம் எடுத்த ஜீத்து ஜோசப். இங்கு வந்து ‘தம்பி’ என்ற ஒரு படத்தை எடுத்து என்ன செய்தார் என்பது எல்லொருக்கும் தெரியும். இது ஒரு உதாரணம் மட்டும்தான். இதுபோல பல உதாரணங்களை நம் திரை உலக சரித்திரத்தில் எடுத்துக்காட்ட முடியும். அப்படியும் நடக்கக்கூடாது.

இவற்றையெல்லாம் நாம் சொல்லும் பொழுது ஒரு விஷயத்தை மிக முக்கியமாக சொல்ல வேண்டி இருக்கிறது. இப்படிப்பட்ட ஒரு பெரும் வெற்றி திரையுலகிலும் திரையுலகம் சார்ந்து இலக்கிய உலகிலும் ஒரு தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தி இருப்பது மறுத்து விட முடியாது. இது சாதாரண வெற்றியாக இருந்தால் யாரும் கவனித்திருக்க மாட்டார்கள். மாபெரும் வெற்றி என்பதனால் இலக்கியவாதிகள் கூட இதைப்பற்றி பேச வேண்டிய சூழ்நிலை வந்துவிட்டது. நிறைய பேர் படம் பார்த்து பாராட்டுகளை எழுத ஆரம்பித்து விட்டார்கள். அது ஒரு சில எழுத்தாளர்களுக்கு பொறுக்க முடியவில்லை. பொறாமைப்பட ஆரம்பித்து விட்டார்கள். காரணம் தங்களைப் பற்றியோ தாங்கள் எழுதிய படங்களை பற்றியோ இப்படி யாரும் பேசியதும் இல்லை, எழுதியதும் இல்லை. வெற்றி பெற்றதும் இல்லை. அந்த காரணங்கள் அவர்களை மேலும் மேலும் புழுங்க செய்துவிட்டது. எதையாவது சொல்லியாக வேண்டும் என்று நினைக்க ஆரம்பித்து விட்டார்கள்.

பிரபல எழுத்தாளரான ஜெயமோகன் போன்றவர்கள் ‘இந்த படத்தை எதற்கு இப்படி பாராட்டுகிறார்கள். ஏன் வெற்றி பெற்றது ஏன் மக்கள் கொண்டாடுகிறார்கள்’ என்ற தொணியில் பேச ஆரம்பித்தார்கள். ஜெயமோகன் எல்லாருக்கும் மேலாக தன்னுடைய உள்ளக்கிடங்கை வெளியே அவிழ்த்து விட்டிருக்கிறார்.

அவர் இந்தப் படத்தை விமர்சிக்கவில்லை. படம் எடுத்த கலைஞர்களையும் அதன் வழியாக மலையாள மக்களையும் மலையாளத் திரை கலைஞர்களை மொத்தமாகவும் குற்றம் சாட்ட ஆரம்பித்திருக்கிறார். எல்லோரையும் ஒரே தளத்தில் வைத்து திட்டி தீர்க்கிறார். “மலையாளிகள் என்றாலே குடிப்பொறுக்கிகள் தான் என்ற ஒரு வார்த்தையால் ஏக வசனமாக எல்லோரையும் பேசியிருக்கிறார். குடிப்பொறுக்கிகள் தான் இந்த படத்தை எடுத்திருக்கிறார்கள், குடிப்பொறுக்கிகளின் செயல்களை இந்த படம் சாதாரணப்படுத்துகிறது, விளம்பரப்படுத்துகிறது, கொண்டாடுகிறது, அதைத்தான் மலையாளிகள் கொண்டாடுகிறார்கள், இந்தப் படத்தை கொண்டாடும் தமிழர்களும் அயோக்கியர்கள் தான்” என்று அவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

இதையும் ஒரு சில எழுத்தாளர்கள் பின்பற்றி அவர்களும் தங்கள் மனதிற்குள் சொல்ல ஆசைப்பட்டதை இவர் சொன்னதனால் அந்த வார்த்தைகளையும் பின்பற்றி அப்படியே எடுத்து பயன்படுத்துகிறார்கள். ஒரு உதாரணத்திற்கு நண்பர் லட்சுமி சரவணகுமார். அவருக்கு வேற எந்த கோபமோ தெரியவில்லை. ஏன் எல்லோரும் இந்த படத்தை கொண்டாடுகிறார்கள் என்று அதுவும் ‘சல்லித்தனமான திரைப்படம்’ என்று இந்த படத்தை குறிப்பிட்டு அதை எதற்காக பாராட்டுகிறார்கள் என்று புலும்புகிறார், “காதல் தி கொர்’ போன்ற படங்களை பாராட்டி இருந்தால் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளலாம், அது இல்லாமல் இந்த படத்தை மட்டுமே நீங்கள் பாராட்டுவதனால் அதை ஏற்க முடியாது என்றும் இது ஒரு சல்லித்தனமான படம்” என்றும் சொல்லுகிறார். பாராட்டுவர்களை எல்லாம் திட்டுகிறார்.

இதுபோல எத்தனையோ எழுத்தாளர் நண்பர்கள் நினைக்கவும் எழுதவும் செய்கின்றனர். எனக்கு தெரிந்து இவர்கள் எல்லோரும் இந்த படத்தின் வெற்றியை பார்த்து பொறாமைப் படுகிறார்கள் என்று தோன்றுகிறது. ஜெயமோகன் சொல்லும்போது “மலையாளிகள் கேரளத்திற்குள் அட்டூழியங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள் குடும்பத்துடன் ஒரு கடற்கரைக்கு ரிசார்ட்டுக்கோ யாராலும் போக முடியாது, எங்கு சென்றாலும் இந்த குடிகாரப் பொறுக்கிகள் பெண்களை பலாத்காரம் செய்வார்கள், குடும்பத்தினருடன் செல்லுபவர்களைக் கூட கிண்டல் செய்வார்கள், போகிற வழியில் எல்லாம் குடித்து பாட்டில்களை வீசுவார்கள், அந்த பாட்டில்கள் மிதித்து யானைகள் சாவது கூட உண்டு, வனங்களிலும் மற்ற தவிர்க்கப்பட்ட இடங்களில் கூட குடிகாரர்கள் செல்கிறார்கள்” என்றெல்லாம் சொல்கிறார்கள். “அப்படிப்பட்ட பொறுக்கிகள் தண்டிக்கப்பட வேண்டியவர்கள்” என்கிறார். இந்த படத்தில் வரும் காட்சியிலேயே “குழியில் விழுந்த ஒருத்தன் சாக வேண்டியவன் அவனை காப்பாற்றுபவன் ஹீரோ ஆகக்கூடாது அவனையும் பொலிஸ் தண்டித்திருக்க வேண்டும்” என்றும் சொல்கிறார். இதைத்தான் மற்ற எழுத்தாளர்களும் விரும்புகிறார்களா என்று தெரியவில்லை.

ஆனால் இதற்கெல்லாம் எதிர்வினையாக மலையாளத்தில் சில எழுத்தாளர்கள் குறிப்பாக உன்னி ஆர் போன்ற எழுத்தாளர்களும் இயக்குனர் சிதம்பரத்தின் தந்தை சதீஷும் பதில் அளித்து இருக்கிறார்கள். இப்படி இந்த படத்தை விமர்சிப்பதை விட படம் எடுத்தவர்களையும் மலையாளிகளையும் விமர்சித்ததால் அந்தப் பக்கம் இந்த பக்கம் எழுத்தாளர்கள் வரிந்து கட்டிக்கொண்டு பேச ஆரம்பித்திருக்கிறார்கள். இப்பொழுது நாமும் பேசவில்லை என்றால் நாம் இந்த திரையுலகத்தில் இல்லை என்று சொல்லிவிடுவார்கள் போல தோன்றுகிறது. அந்த அளவிற்கு இந்த வாக்குவாதங்கள் நடந்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றன.

இது நல்ல விஷயமாக எனக்கு தோன்றவில்லை. இந்த திரைப்படம் ஒரு தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியிருப்பது என்பதில் மிகுந்த சந்தோஷம். இது அடுத்த கட்ட நகர்விற்கு ஒரு பாதை அமைத்துக் கொடுக்கும். ஏற்கனவே தமிழ் படங்களில் கேரளத்துக் காரர்கள் என்றால் மலையாளத்தான் என்றும் மாறாப்பு போடாத பெண்கள் என்றும் காட்டிக் கொண்டிருந்த காலம் தொடர்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது. மலையாள படங்களில் தமிழர்கள் என்றால் பாண்டிகள் என்று கிண்டல் செய்யும் காட்சிகள் தொடர்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது. இப்படிப்பட்ட குற்றச்சாட்டுகள் அந்தப் பக்கமும் இந்தப் பக்கமும் இருக்கும் நேரத்தில் தான் இப்படி ஒரு படம் இரண்டு பிரிவினையும் சகோதரர்கள் நண்பர்கள் என்று ஒன்றிணைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது. அதற்கு ஒரு முன் உதாரணமாக இந்த படம் வந்திருக்கிறது. அதனால் இந்த மிகப்பெரும் வெற்றி இனிவரும் எழுத்தாளர்களையும் திரைப்பட கலைஞர்களையும் புத்தகம் எழுதும் பொழுதும், படமெடுக்கும் பொழுதும், இதை மனதில் வைத்துக் கொண்டு எழுத தூண்டும். அதுவே ஒரு வெற்றி தான்.! அந்த வெற்றி தான் இந்த திரைப்படத்தின் மிகப்பெரும் வெற்றியாக நான் கருதுகிறேன்.

நாளை ஒரு படம் எடுக்க ஒருவர் முன் வரும் பொழுது கண்டிப்பாக அதை தமிழகத்திலும் கேரளத்திலும் வெற்றி பெறச் செய்ய வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணத்தில் தான் எடுக்க முன்வருவார். அப்படி இருக்கும் பொழுது அந்தப் படங்களில் மலையாள கதாபாத்திரங்களும் தமிழ் கதாபாத்திரங்களும் நல்ல முறையில் காட்டப்படுவார்கள் என்பது நிச்சயம். அநாவசியமாக மற்றவர்களை கிண்டல் செய்யும் பாணி மாறி மற்ற மொழியிலும் நல்ல கதாபாத்திரங்கள் மனிதர்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள் என்பதை எதார்த்தமாக காட்ட தோன்றும். அப்படி இதே போன்ற படங்கள் நிறைய வரும் பொழுது மலையாள திரை உலகிலும் தமிழ் திரை உலகிலும் நல்ல நல்ல படங்கள் வரும் என்று நம்புவோம்.

Ponniyin Selvan Synopsis

 

Vanakkam.. Namaskaram.. Good morning

Whenever I tell that ‘I am telling the novel Ponniyin Selvan as a story in my channel, I wrote screenplay for that, and I am trying to make it as a film etc.,’ some of my friends will always ask “Can you tell its synopsis?”

This is the most popular novel in Tamil written by Mr.Kalki, spread over five parts and it fifth part itself equal to two parts. It is very hard to tell this big novel in short as a synopsis. Because, the attraction and beauty of the novel will not be in the synopsis. Everything cannot be told in short.

And according to my opinion, it should not be told like that. Still, I am trying it tell as the friends requested. And I am going to tell it in Tamil as many friends asked for that. And I am transcribing and posting it as a text here.

It is not the synopsis, but synopsis of the synopsis!

This story was written as it happened thousand years ago. This is an imaginary story made on the basis of some incidents in the life of Rajaraja Chozhar, who construced the Thanjavur big temple.

There are so many truths in the story. And many things are imaginary. There are so many characters and incidents in this story are based on peoples who lived and happened in the history. At the same time so many characters and incidents are fictional.

We cant differentiate which are true and which are fiction, which are happened and which are imaginary. That is the talent of Mr.Kalki, The speciality of his writing style.

The story is happening in the period of the rule of Sundara Chozhar. He is very popular one in the dynasty of Imperial Chozhas, began with Vijayalaya Chozhar. He had three children.

First one, Aditha Karikalan, who had been crowned as the prince as to become the next king. Now he is in Kanchipuram as the commander in chief of the northern wing of Chozha army. Second one, princess Kunthavai is in Pazhaiyaarai. Third one, Arunmozhi in Srilanka as the commander in chief of southern wing of Chozha army.

In a situation like this, one day, our hero Vallavarayan Vanthiyathevan started his journey from Kanchi. The total story is based on the adventurous journey of Vanthiyathevan. The story is based on the incidents and persons he faced in his journeys.

Aditha Karikalan send two letters (palm leaves) by Vanthiyathevan. One letter to the Emperor in Thanjavur and the second on to his sister Kunthavai in Pahazhaiyaarai. 

Adithan feel that something unusual is happening in the country and hearing something that should not be heard. And he wrote these letters only because he decided to know the truth.

Adithan send him only with some advices like “On the way you should not interfere with any others business and you should not try to prove your bravery and sincerity, should not go and face any problems.. You should not reveal yourself and go and come back secretly.

And the story started from that journey of Vanthiyathevan. When Vanthiyathevan started the journey to Thanjavur, he has to stay on the way in Kadambur for one night. In that night, he meet his old friend Kanthamaran, son of Kadambur Sambuvaraiyar and stayed in his palace. The Vanthiyathevan got a chance to watch a secret meeting there.

In Chozha empire, the Pazhuvettarayars are the second powerful person in the country next to the Emperors. From the period of Vijayalayan itself the families of Pazhuvettarayars and Chozhas have maternal relationship. Pazhuvettarayars have the power to impose and collect taxes from subordinate kings and the citizens. In that family, now there two brothers, elder (Periya) Pazhuvettarayar and younger (Chinna) Pazhuvettarayar.

Younger Pazhuvettarayar is the in charge of the protection of Thanjavur fort and palaces. The subordinate kings and officers met together in the Kadambur palace under the leadership of Periya Pazhuvettarayar.  They decided to leave aside Adithan and to crown Maduranthakan, son of Kantarathithar, who is the uncle of Sundara Chozhar.

In reality, Maduranthakan have more right to crown than Adithan. But his mother, Periya Piratti brought up him in the spiritual way. He lived in that way, even up to a few months back. But he started to like politics and power in the recent days. Pazhuvettarayar and team decided to make him as the next king.

Vanthiyathevan understanding all those things, started his journey to Thanjavur. He met many persons on the way and made a few as his friends and some others as enemies. He met Azhvarkatiyan, a spy. He is an assistant of Anirudha Brhmarayar, the prime minister of Chozha Empire. As a vaishnavite, he will go to the temples, collect all the news from all over the country and conveyed them to Prime minister, Periya Piratti and Kunthavai. He doubt Vanthiyathevan as a spy and Vanthiyathevan doubt Azhvarkatiyan.

Vanthiyathevan met Nandhini, wife of Periya Pazhuvettarayar on the way to Thanjavur. He is an old man married Nandhini an younger lady. Vanthiyathevan got a ring with the emblem of Pazhuvettarayars from Nandhini. After that, he got friendship with Chenthan Amudhan in Thanjavur. With the help of Amudhan, Vanthiyathevan enter into the fort next day,

Vanthiyathevan cleverly cheat Chinna Pazhuhvettarayar and meet the Emperor and hand over the letter. Then caught by Chinna Pazhuvttarayar. Vanthiyathevan then escaped from there and met Nandhini. Nandhini is belong to the group of Apathuthavikal, the body guard team of Madurai Pandyas.

Chozhas had killed the Pandya king Veerapandian. The apathuthavikal are trying to bring back the Pandya dynasty. Nandhini is helping that group. And she likes to appoint Vanthiyathevan as her personal assistant. But he told that he promised Adithan already and going to become personal assistant of Kunthavai, Then he escaped from that place also.

 On the way he saw Kanthamaran struck in a trap. One was trying to kill him from the back. Vanthiyathevan saved him. But Kanthamaran doubt that Vanthiyathevan itself stabbed from his back. Chinna Pahuvettarayar and team announced that Vanthiyathevan is a spy and sentence him to death.

Vanthiyathevan escaped from there with the help of Chenthan Amudhan. From Thanjavur he start his journey to Pazhayaarai. On the way he had been attacked by the black magician Ravidasan, a member of Nandhini’s team and Vanthiyathevan escaped from him also.

Vanthiyathevan meet Kunthavai in Pazhayaarai and hand over the letter. He already met Kunthavai once on the way earlier, without knowing that she was Kunthavai. And now he meet her again and start to love her. She also liked him. She understand all the matters happened.

She know that Nandhini and team trying to destroy the Chozha family at once. Kunthavai wanted to bring Adithan and Arunmozhi to a place as they can be in a safe position. So she send a letter by Vanthiyathevan and asked him to bring Arunmozhi. So, Vanthiyathevan started the journey from Pazhayaarai to Srilanka.

He started the journey with a son of a rural doctor as to bring herbal medicines for the treatment of the emperor. They came to Kodikkarai. In Kodikkarai, they meet Poonkuzhali. She is a daughter of a priest there. And she is very daring and knows boat riding. With her help, Vanthiyathevan started his journey to Srilanka through sea.             

Azhvarkatiyan also came there. The captain of the Chozha army meet them both Vanthiyathevan and Azhvarkatiyan. Then as he advised, both of them go to meet Arunmozhi. Arunmozhi tell about the incidents he faced in his life. A lady saved him whenever he was in danger.

These three meet that lady, old lady. She is Mandakini and she look alike Nandhini. She is a deaf and dumb and so she told about her relationship with Sundara Chozhar in the younger age through paintings. Arunmozhi and friends understand what happened in the life of Sundara Chozhar.

At the same time, Sundara Chozhar tells about that directly to his daughter Kunthavai. He believed that her soul is torturing him, and that thought is making him ill.

In this situation, Pazhuvettarayars send men to arrest Arunmozhi, with the consent of the emperor itself. So Arunmozhi came forward as he could be arrested. On the way he with the friends came to know about the sea robbers who attacked the army of Chozhas in Srilanka. They saw a ship of the robbers in a distance.

Vanthiyathevan mistake that Arunmozhi had been caught in that ship and got to the ship. Arunmozhi came to the ship as to save Vanthiyathevan as he gone to save himself. The ship was burned in the fire, and luckily Vanthiyathevan and Arunmozhi escaped from that ship.

Poonkuzhali saved both of them and bring back to Kodikkarai. Arunmozhi affected by a disease. So to send him for treatment in the hospital of Budha Bikshus, Poonkuzhali take him to Nagapattinam. Chenthan Amudhan, who came there accompanied her in that journey. She is cousin of Chenthan and he loved her.

Vanthiyathevan send them to Nagapattinam and start his journey again to Pazhayaarai. And have to meet Nandhini again on the way. Everywhere, everyone meet Nandhini, had been surrendered to her. Including Parthipendran, the close friend of Adithan. But Vanthiyathevan escaped from her trap. She respects Vanthiyathevan by seeing his talent and boldness.

Vanthiyathevan escaped from there, reached Pazhayaarai and meet Kunthavai. They understand what is the plan of Nandhini and team. They know that Nandhini and team trying to destroy the Chozha family at once. 

Kunthavai believed that Nndhini might be the daughter of Sundara Chozhar. Vanthiyathevan and Arunmozhi also had believed the same. Nandhini and Adithan were lovers in the younger age. Because of fate, they couldn’t join together at that time.

Adithan searched for Veerapandian in the past war and ready to kill him. At that time Nandhini begged in front of Adithan for his life. Only because of that, Adithan got angrier and cut the neck of Veerapandian. From that day, Nandhini want to take revenge on Adithan and working for that.

Knowing all these things, Kunthavai wanted to block Nandhini from meeting with Adithan and so send Vanthiyathevan for that. Because Kunthavai got the news that Adithan started to Kadambur and that also because Nandhini invited!

So Vanthiyathevan and Azhvarkatiyan started the journey from Pazhayaarai to Kanchi. But they saw Adithan and team coming on the way itself. Adithan is a stubborn man. He will not go back if started anything. So he continued his journey to Kadambur. As there is no other way, Vanthiyathevan also continue the journey with him.

Patthipendran and Kanthamaran were there, and they doubt Vanthiyathevan. Adithan warned them. Ask all friends to stay together.

‘On a same day, should kill Adithan in Kadambur, should kill Sundara Chozhar in Thanjavur and should kill Arunmozhi in Srilanka..’ That was the plan of Nandhini and team.

Because of some situations, Arunmozhi have to reveal himself and have to start his journey from Nagapattinam to Thanjavur. Because of some other reasons Pazuvettaryar came to know the truth. He came to Kadambur palace. Vanthiyathevan was trying to save Adithan by all means.

Manimekalai, sister of Kanthamaran, who already loved Vanthiyathevan. With her help Vanthiyathevan came to the same palace. By fate, in a suspicious manner, Adithan got killed in that palace. Periya Pazhuvettarayar believed that himself killed Adithan. Others blamed that Vanthiyathevan killed Adithan.

At the same time, in Thanjavur, Sundara Chozhar had been attacked but saved by Mandakini. And she lost her life. Arunmozhi escaped cleverly from the persons came to kill him. He came to Thanjavur. And on the way itself, he meet Poonkuzhali, Kunthavai and Vanathi. They together came to the Thanjavur palace secretely.

Vanthiyathevan had been arrested and brought to Thanjavur as a prisoner and sent to jail. In the jail, Vanthiyathevan meet a mad man. The madman started to tell about the Chozha family, Padyas family and their secrets. With his help, Vanthiyathevan escaped from the jail. On the way, he saw Chenthan Amudhan in a dangerous position. Vanthiyathevan saved him without caring his own life. After that, Vanthiyathevan also had been brought to the Thanjavur palace secretly.  

All decided to crown Arunmozhi as the emperor.. On the ceremony day, Vanthiyathevan and Arunmozhi played a drama and crowned Chenthan Amudhan as the emperor.. Dear Friends..

For the last 4 years I had uploading various videos in our channel KBV Reels. And I had done many changes in making and content of the videos each time as experimented again and again.

At last, I had decided what to do, how to do and which topics to be commented etc. And for the last two months, I had uploaded an introduction or sample video on each topic.

This is the 12^th year of our Film Literature Confluence. So I had restarted the monthly programs of the confluence after a break, because of covid lockdown. Along with that, Talent Sangamam, Cinema Sangamam, Film Research Documentary and many other good things also had been initiated

These are services!  

Film Friendship Production, making films, taking film series, writing books, writing screenplays are my works. I am doing the services parallel only to the main works.

Our channel have only two objectives. One, should help everyone to speak English and two, should guide friends to make Films. That’s all!

And, I had started to watch all the topics based on cinema, society and a little literature from an alternate point of view,  from my angle and comment.

Now, I am going to make videos on each topic set by set, as seasons. As the 1^st season going to concentrate on Easy English, some tips to speak English easily, and I had started to tell some notes on Cinema and English under the playlist Cinema & English.

Apart from that, I had started to tell Ponniyin Selvan novel as a story in English. I am doing this with a confidence to create an interest to speak English through hearing story in English.

I am inviting the friends also to participate in these attempts. Friends who could not speak English, please come to speak English, daringly, even with mistakes. Friends who could speak English, come to speak in a simple way as encouraging others, as everyone can understand.

Make your videos as small videos. and send to me. I am waiting to compile and publish them here under English Sangamam. You can talk on any topic, but not more than 2 or 3 minutes. And make them as all the family members can sit and watch together!
